Extended the life of by vacuum by replacing brush roller.
I got exactly the right part and didn't have to wait long for it. Within 30 minutes I was using the vacuum.
That is exactly what I wanted.

Fixed it
Hoover upright was no longer working - turns out the agitator was not turning - thought about trying to take it apart and clean it - did not seem easy to do - easier to buy a new agitator.
Agitator works well.
This replacement agitator works well and appears to be solidly made.
I was a little surprised at how much stiffer the new brush bristles are than the old ones,
hope my old carpets can take the beating.
Would recommend to a friend.
